The extended partnership has been launched ahead of the resumption of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign for Stephen Kenny’s Senior Men’s team and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers for Vera Pauw’s side.
Carlsberg have been Official Beer Sponsor of the Senior Men’s team for the last 20 years and will now become Official Beer Sponsor for the Senior Women’s team for the first time as part of the new deal.
Announcing the new deal, Rory Sheridan, Head of Partnerships, Diageo said: “As a brand with a big history in football, we are delighted to be continuing our partnership with the FAI for another five years, again supporting the Senior Men’s National Team as they go in search of qualification for the 2022 World Cup. Furthermore, we are delighted to extend our partnership to the Senior Women’s International Team which is a big part of our commitment to Irish Football for the future.”
Welcoming the extended deal on behalf of the FAI, Commercial & Marketing Director Mark Russell stated: “Carlsberg have been a treasured partner of the FAI for many years now and we are delighted to agree this contract extension with them. This renewed partnership will bring our successful working relationship with Carlsberg to over 20 years, and a total of 36 years with Carlsberg, Guinness, Harp and Diageo. We are particularly delighted that Carlsberg are now the Official Beer Sponsor of the Senior Women’s International team as well as the Senior Men and we look forward to working with everyone at Carlsberg and Diageo for another five years.”
