Quotes

Ireland Under-21 Head Coach Jim Crawford said: "It's a fresh start and the players are looking forward to it. We've a number of players who were involved in the last campaign who are good to go again for the next qualifiers and that's one of our learnings from previous campaigns. It's about using windows like this to embed your principles and that requires patiences. We must remember that many of these players would have missed out on international football due to Covid, so that's something else to consider.

"We've got this window to have a look at players. In March we've another chance to bring other players in. There were a number of players very close to be being called in but we didn't get an opportunity to get out to their games, so March allows us to do that. Plus you have the Under-19s, where there are a number of players who are pushing for places."
