Ireland Boys Under-15s ended their UEFA Development Tournament with a 4-0 win against Lithuania in Croatia this afternoon.

Shamrock Rovers’ Archie Quinn struck twice in the second half while his club mate Josh O’Dwyer was also on target. Galway United’s Jonathan Echefu netted his first international goal to give Ireland the lead.

Having tasted defeat against Croatia on Friday evening, Ireland were looking to bounce back with a positive result against the Lithuanians.

And they started the brighter of the teams with midfielder Ciaran Daly having two sighters on goal in the opening 15 minutes, first hitting the woodwork with a header before the Shamrock Rovers talent had an attempt that just went over the bar.

The breakthrough for Ireland would come from Echefu who struck a sweet half volley in the 23rd minute to give the young Boys in Green the lead.

They would be two ahead just after the hour mark when O’Dwyer netted his first goal for Ireland. Seven minutes later it would be 3-0 when Quinn scored with a backpost header following a cross from Ethan Kelly. And Quinn would score his fourth international goal in three games when he converted a penalty in the 75th minute after Ethan Kelly was felled in the penalty area.

The result ended a positive week for the Boys Under-15s who won two out of three games in Zagreb, scoring 10 goals in the process.
