REPORT | GU16 | Ireland 3-1 Scotland

Goals from Molly Kirwan, Alice Buggle and Chloe Sarcia-Maxwell helped the Ireland Girls' Under-16s beat Scotland 3-1 in an International Friendly at the FAI National Training Centre.

Wexford's Kirwan opened the scoring on 35 minutes as Ireland showed an assertiveness with their start to this game, which was the first of two meetings between the sides within a week.

Scotland did get themselves on the scoresheet but late goals from Shelbourne's Buggle and North Carolina Courage's Sarcia-Maxwell helped win it for the home team.

This was the fourth game for this new group of GU16s and they showed a lot of class with their passing, running off the ball and work ethic. Already they are building up a bond and a style of play.

Ireland: Sarah Doyle (Isabelle Carroll 70); Annabel Mulcaire Quille (Lara Dallaghan 70), Holly O'Hagan, Sophie Clarke (Hailey Twomey 70), Keelin Comiskey; Madison McGuane, Emma Mooney (Fiona Poole 46); Ruby Morrison (Alice Buggle 60), Molly Kirwan (Chloe Sarcia-Maxwell 60), Caelan Bacon (Halle Harcourt 60); Kassie McLoughlin (Mia Gaff 70).
