Redmond trained with the U21s earlier this week and will fly out with the group to Borås later today.
Festy Ebosele, Evan Ferguson and Will Smallbone won’t travel to Sweden.
After meeting with Manager Jim Crawford, it was agreed Ebosele would miss the game due to family reasons.
Ferguson will return to his club for treatment while Smallbone will stay at Southampton due to illness.
The U21s’ game will be live on RTÉ2 with Kick-Off at 5pm Irish time on Tuesday.
