The FAI is the governing body of football, at all levels, throughout the Republic of Ireland. Founded in 1921, the FAI is an affiliate of both FIFA and UEFA with responsibility for overseeing the development, administration and promotion of football. Connected with every community around the country, the FAI aims to have a positive impact - on and off the pitch - to foster the game's continued growth & participation levels.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Marketing and Communications will have a role in shaping and influencing the new 2026-2030 strategy for all levels of football across Ireland and the ongoing communication development thereof.
This role presents a unique opportunity to drive transformational change in setting brand perception, the reputation of Irish Football, driving overall participation levels within the game and will be pivotal in ensuring that the FAI delivers its objectives as a modern and progressive sport’s governing body.
For this pivotal role, you will be an experienced, commercially aware senior leader with a strong track record in delivering marketing and communications solutions and campaigns for leading businesses and brands, potentially within the sports sector (not essential) or environments such as retail, hospitality, entertainment, recreation, event management or agency. The ability to operate at C-Suite level in a fast-paced demanding, stakeholder-rich environment is essential.
