Ward has recruited a strong coaching staff with Amber Whiteley (Assistant Coach) joining Alan Mahon (Assistant Head Coach) and Emma Byrne (Goalkeeping Coach) in the set-up.

Ward said: “I’m delighted to bring this group of talented professionals and brilliant people together to work with our players for what will be an exciting UEFA Nations League campaign that then leads us into the qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“We will only succeed if we work together as a team, on and off the pitch, and everyone is already playing their part in preparing us for the opening games against Türkiye and Slovenia. We are ready to get going.”

Whiteley (pictured below) is the current Assistant Manager with the Liverpool Women’s Team in the English Women’s Super League and has experience coaching with Manchester United, Sunderland and England Women’s Under-18s.

Mahon – a former English Premier League player who featured twice for the Ireland Men’s National Team – links up with the squad following a decade coaching with the Manchester City Women’s Team.

WNT record caps holder Byrne continues in the set-up as Goalkeeping Coach alongside Performance coach Ivi Casagrande who brings vast experience including working at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with Brazil.
