WNT line up double header with USA

The Ireland Women’s National Team will take on the United States in two International Friendly games in June.

The first game against the World No 1 will take place on Thursday, June 26th in Denver, Colorado ahead of the teams meeting again on Sunday, June 29th in Cincinnati.

Ireland have played the United States 15 times, most recently in a double header in the run up to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. These games will come after the conclusion of the Group stage of the UEFA Nations League campaign.

Ireland WNT Head Coach Carla Ward said: “We are looking forward to these two games against the best international team in women’s football as they will provide the kind of challenge that we need to expose our players to more often.

“As we continue to work on further developing our squad, these games will allow us the opportunity to put some of our work into practice in what will be two intense games that we will learn a lot from.”

The United States have previously played in Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Colorado on eight occasions and twice in TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. They will be the 11th and 12th different states that Ireland will have faced the same opponents in.
